Danny Raymon Wingo, 70, of Marshall, passed away September 8, 2016. He was born on Holly Mountain in Shirley, Arkansas on February 2, 1946 to Royce M. and Ethel Anderson Wingo. Danny was a pastor for 48 years and would meet people and would not really start taking to them until he started witnessing to them. Danny served our country in the United States Air Force. He had a great sense of humor, a love for everybody and he loved to sit beside a campfire. He was a gardener who loved God, his family and his children most of all.
Left to cherish Danny's memory are his wife of 39 years , Betty Passmore Wingo of Marshall, children Cathy Simmons and husband Gregory Mark of Leslie, Becky Morrison and husband Samuel Dean of Mountain View and MeLinda Halsted and husband Kenneth of Conway; daughter-in-law, Stormie Wingo of Conway, grandchildren Ashley Simmons King and husband Charles of Marshall, Nicole Rainey and husband Trey of Mountain View, Cassy Morrison of Broken Arrow, OK, Missy Mitchell and husband Britt of Mountain View, Daniel Wingo of Conway, Autumn Wingo of Conway, Laura Logan and husband Jonathan of Conway, Noah Halsted of Conway, Chord Halsted of Conway, Vivian Halsted of Conway and Mandy Baty and husband Jason of Mountain View. Danny is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; his siblings Betty Vance of Conway, Eileen Askew of Oxley, AR, Allen Wingo of Phoenix, AZ, Tom Wingo of Phoenix, AZ, Howard Bruce Wingo of Dixon, TN, and Judy Holley of Leslie, AR; numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and family.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Royce M. Wingo, mother Ethel Anderson Wingo, Son Stephen Wingo, grandson Nicholas Morrison and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Firl and Mildred Passmore.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Clinton Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Flatwood Baptist Church in Mountain View, AR with Brother Dwight Scott officiating. Graveside services are at 2:00 p.m. at Passmore Thola Cemetery.
Pall Bearers are Dean Morrison, Mark Simmons, Kenneth Halsted, Gerald Sutton, Scott Griffin, Tom Wingo, Jr., Noah Halsted and Mike Holley. Honorary Pall Bearers are Tom Wingo, Allen Wingo, Bruce Wingo and Brad Moore.
